President Message---
Happy Carving 2007!!
Wow! It’s 80 degrees out there, the
grass needs mowing twice a week and summer events are cropping up all over!
(Of course, since we’re
As with any time we have a state
meeting, it’s time to nominate officers for 2008. Barb Alonzo (543-4883) and
Joe VanMullem (586-0701) are the nominating committee. If you have any interest
in any office or would like to nominate someone please contact them or any other
officer. Barb would especially like
to turn the membership duties over to someone else.
She & John would like to be free to travel more without concern about
forms coming in. It’s not at all
difficult and can be done by mail. Contact Barb or Joe!
The Western Montana Woodcarvers’ Show
is history. Unlike many shows, the
entries were up, although admission was down a little.
The raffles were great and hopefully the show helped spread carving fever
to a few more people!
We would like another part of the state
to have a show, sale or some sort of demo if possible.
The Anaconda/Butte carvers showed some
interest at the state meeting and we hope to get something going there.
If you get the opportunity to attend the Montana State Fair in
Please keep us posted on what’s
happening in your area, even if you’re the only one in your area!
We all want carving to increase and our numbers to increase and there may
be someone down the road from you who is also a state member that you don’t
know about.
Keep that carving spirit and contact any
officer if you have questions, concerns or good ideas! We want carving ideas
too, you know !!
