High County Carvers of the Flathead ValleyMondays The
High-Country Carvers enjoyed a good year. Fall was busy with
everyone preparing for our Christmas project. Each member donated
between 10 and 15 ornaments that were sold at a popular local Bazaar and
Craft Show. All proceeds from the sale were donated to the
Northwest Montana Veterans' Stand-Down Program supporting our local
veterans and the Wings Program supporting local Cancer patients.
The remaining hand-carved and painted ornaments were donated to the
Montana Veterans' Home for our Vets and families to enjoy. We
continued to carve throughout the winter on our personal projects and
wound up for the season at the end of May. A Carvers' picnic/BBQ
is being planned for mid-Summer. |
The Billings Club We still meet every week on Wednesday at Clettis Orthman's home. If
you’d like to join us call Clettis at 626-1610.
The The Montana State Fair Fine Arts Division asked the Great Falls Woodcarvers to be the artists of the week, for the 2007 fair week. We can display, sell, and do demonstrations, this is a full 7 days, we will need all the help, and carvings that we can get together, to fill the area assigned to us. This is a very exciting project! Contact LeRoy at 452-1126. |
The Missoula Club Terry
Porter is finalizing details to meet with some carvers in We
have begun our 10th annual Carving Angels project and we
would love to have your help to meet our goal of 100 ornaments.
Many of the angels will have a star theme…stars added to the
ornaments, angels holding stars…or just carved stars.
We have blanks and patterns for anyone who is interested.
